The rockets’ red glare will stream over Viridian once again as the Arlington community salutes Independence Day with fireworks, live music and activities from 5-10 p.m. Sunday, July 1.
Country duo Shotgun Rider will headline the 3rd Annual Viridian Stars and Stripes celebration taking place on the shore of Lake Viridian, 1001 Viridian Park Lane. The Shane Bell Band and 7th Row 2nd Seat also are set to rock the stage with covers of classic rock and country favorites.
“Our Stars and Stripes celebration is a great way to kick-off your Fourth of July parties,” said Debra Meers, marketing director of Viridian. “The main event is our spectacular fireworks display, but we invite everyone to come out early to enjoy the bands, food trucks and activities.”
Attendees can participate in rock climbing and zip lining from 5 to 9 p.m., as well as bounce around on adult-sized inflatables. A giant slide and other activities will keep the kids occupied until the pyrotechnics begin. Food can be purchased from mobile eateries including In-N-Out Burger, Cousins Maine Lobster and Pokey O's- Tarrant.
The fireworks display begins at 9:40 p.m., and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to watch the show. The event is free and open to the public.
