Howard Porteus

Partner and Development Manager

Hailing from a small town in the Catskills of New York, Howard Porteus has spent his entire life in residential construction. Introduced to the field by his father, a general contractor, and carpenter, Howard first worked professionally in Colorado handling contracts for a real estate title company and then managing operations for a builder in Southern California.

He came to Texas in 2007, teaming up with Robert Kembel — general manager of Viridian — when they were both at Huffines Communities. While the two have jointly designed the Viridian community, Howard oversees all construction in the development. Howard is such a strong believer in Viridian that he and his wife are also residents. Howard is a licensed pilot, an avid cyclist and is very active in Mission Arlington’s wrestling program.
